The Pizzi Family
The Pizzi family immigrated to Indianapolis in the mid-1960s to chase the classic "American Dream." While the family had been in the wrought-iron welding business for over 100 years, Giuseppe and Anna Pizzi's son, Gino, had a dream of opening a restaurant. Together, they did just that, founding Ambrosia in 1979. Since its inception, Ambrosia's mission has been to consistently provide high quality, traditional Italian cuisine while continuing to be innovative. Though the Pizzi family has expanded their restaurant group in the Indianapolis area, Ambrosia remains the anchor that started it all. As of 2019, the restaurant has been proudly operated by Gino's daughter Anna (named after Gino's mother) and her husband Dan.
